Position Overview

The Chief Transformation and Innovation Officer (CTrO) will lead the organization's strategic transformation by designing actionable, innovative, and measurable roadmaps aligned with its mission to serve underserved communities. This role focuses on identifying strategies for innovation, operational excellence, and sustainability while building systems that support long-term growth. The CTrO will oversee initiatives to improve payer and member outcomes, drive financial equity, and lead innovation without compromising daily operations.

Essential Duties

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute transformation strategies that align with the organization's vision for equity, sustainability, and innovation.
  • Partner with the CEO and senior leadership to identify and address systemic gaps, ensuring measurable progress toward long-term goals.
  • Lead the development of an actionable roadmap for integrating AI, quality improvement, and sustainable practices across the organization.

AI Strategy, Vision, and Roadmap Development

  • Develop a comprehensive roadmap for AI transformation informed by four key dimensions: strategy, toolkits, data management, and applications.
  • Ensure strategy incorporates vision and investment in innovative and scalable solutions aligned with the organization's mission.
  • Oversee the creation of AI toolkits supported by a robust technical team and flexible infrastructure to enable seamless implementation.
  • Lead data management initiatives to ensure accessibility, security, and governance, supporting ethical AI deployment.
  • Ensure AI applications are reliable, scalable, and address a broad array of targeted use cases to maximize impact.

Data Management

  • Oversee the development of robust data governance frameworks to ensure data accessibility, security, and compliance.
  • Implement systems that improve the organization's ability to collect, manage, and analyze data effectively.
  • Champion ethical data usage and inclusivity in AI-powered decision-making processes.

AI Applications

  • Identify and deploy AI applications that address diverse, high-impact use cases, such as improving payer outcomes, enhancing member care, and streamlining internal operations.
  • Ensure AI tools and solutions are reliable, scalable, and tailored to meet the organization's specific needs.
  • Collaborate with teams to monitor the effectiveness of AI applications and refine them for continuous improvement.

Financial Equity and Sustainability

  • Collaborate with the finance team to design sustainable business models, ensuring alignment with mission-driven goals.
  • Foster partnerships with external organizations to create financial equity and shared value across sectors.
  • Ensure transformation projects incorporate financial acumen and are designed to support long-term viability for smaller members.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Change Management

  • Build and empower cross-functional teams, ensuring all transformation efforts are supported by a cohesive structure.
  • Lead change management strategies, creating tools and frameworks to encourage organization-wide adoption of innovative practices.
  • Serve as a thought leader and connector, fostering trust and alignment across all levels of the organization.

Quality and Outcomes Improvement

  • Establish systems and metrics to monitor and improve quality outcomes across payer and member services.
  • Implement transformation initiatives that enhance member satisfaction, streamline operations, and increase efficiency.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, focusing on data-driven quality enhancement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • A combination of education and demonstrated experience in innovation, technology, or transformation in healthcare or related fields may be considered.
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in healthcare transformation, payer systems, AI and analytics, or a related field, with increasing responsibility and leadership in projects or initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive measurable outcomes in innovative or high-impact roles.
  • Emerging Leaders Encouraged: Candidates with a strong track record in smaller-scale transformation projects or as contributors to major initiatives, with the ability to step into a larger leadership role.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

To keep our colleagues, members, and communities safe, OCHIN requires all employees-including remote employees, contractors, interns, and new hires-to be vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine, as supported by state and federal public health officials, as a condition of employment. All new hires are required to provide proof of full vaccination or receive approval for a medical or religious exemption before their hire date.

Work Location and Travel Requirements

OCHIN is a 100% remote organization with no physical corporate office location. Employees work remotely from home and many of our positions also support our member organizations on-site for new software installations. Nationwide travel is determined based on OCHIN business needs. Please inquire during the interview process about travel requirements for this position.

Base Pay Overview

The typical offer range for this role is minimum to midpoint, with the midpoint representing the average pay in a national market scope for this position. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors directly relevant to this position, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, responsibility, and experience, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
