Overview

Pyramid Systems, Inc. is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual for a paid part-time Technical Internship focused on AWS. This internship is designed for individuals looking to grow their technical expertise in AWS cloud computing while working in a supportive, learning-focused environment.

This 7-week internship runs from January 13, 2025 to February 28, 2025. The working hours are estimated to be 2.5 per week and the location is flexible.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Participate in structured AWS training programs, including workshops, online courses, and hands-on labs.

Assist in building, testing, and deploying cloud-based solutions on AWS under the guidance of experienced mentors.
Learn and implement best practices in cloud architecture, security, and cost optimization.
Collaborate with team members to analyze and solve technical problems using AWS services.
Document workflows, configurations, and troubleshooting steps as part of training exercises.
Prepare for AWS certification exams (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps Administrator).

Key Skills to Gain:

Foundational knowledge of AWS services, such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda.
Experience with cloud-based application development and deployment.
Understanding of cloud security and scalability principles.
Skills in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.

Qualifications

Enrollment in or recent completion of a degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Passion for learning cloud technologies and obtaining AWS certifications.
Basic understanding of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, or Bash) is preferred.
Ability to work independently and with a team providing guidance and support.
Desire to learn new skills, including self-study if needed, and ability to follow through on tasks to completion.
True enjoyment of technology and the desire to contribute to a team's output.
Must be a self-starter and able to manage their time effectively to accommodate the work/life balance of virtual work.
Recent college graduates will also be considered.

Target Pay Range

The below listed pay range for this position is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The final offered salary will be influenced by a host of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
