Overview

Pyramid Systems, Inc. is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual for a paid part-time Technical Internship focused on AWS. This internship is designed for individuals looking to grow their technical expertise in AWS cloud computing while working in a supportive, learning-focused environment.

This 7-week internship runs from January 13, 2025 to February 28, 2025. The working hours are estimated to be 2.5 per week and the location is flexible.



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

    Participate in structured AWS training programs, including workshops, online courses, and hands-on labs.
  • Assist in building, testing, and deploying cloud-based solutions on AWS under the guidance of experienced mentors.
  • Learn and implement best practices in cloud architecture, security, and cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with team members to analyze and solve technical problems using AWS services.
  • Document workflows, configurations, and troubleshooting steps as part of training exercises.
  • Prepare for AWS certification exams (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps Administrator).

Key Skills to Gain:

  • Foundational knowledge of AWS services, such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda.
  • Experience with cloud-based application development and deployment.
  • Understanding of cloud security and scalability principles.
  • Skills in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.


Qualifications

  • Enrollment in or recent completion of a degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Passion for learning cloud technologies and obtaining AWS certifications.
  • Basic understanding of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, or Bash) is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team providing guidance and support.
  • Desire to learn new skills, including self-study if needed, and ability to follow through on tasks to completion.
  • True enjoyment of technology and the desire to contribute to a team's output.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to manage their time effectively to accommodate the work/life balance of virtual work.
  • Recent college graduates will also be considered.


Target Pay Range

The below listed pay range for this position is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The final offered salary will be influenced by a host of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
