YOU

As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring company supplies, services and packaging at the best possible price and terms. Ensure company's purchasing and receiving activities are in compliance with company policy.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(% of Time)

Monitor Internal and External Inventories to ensure efficient operations and determine purchase requirements. Find opportunities to reduce costs. Work with Inventory Control and Plant Operations to ensure all purchase needs are met. (65%)

Perform analysis and reconcile accounts. (10%)

Maintain adequate purchasing documents and provide support during internal and external audit. (5%)

Prepare and calculate monthly accruals. (5%)

Monitor and track spending on capital purchases. (5%)

Provide Month end Documents for Cost Accounting (SOX). (5%)

Other duties as needed to support the Cost Accounting Department and Purchasing Department. (5%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

If you can do everything listed above, you've got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two year college or technical school is preferred.
  • 2 years of related experience and/or training.
  • 3 years of experience with a well-known large ERP, such as SAP, Oracle, etc. is required. Experience with SAP, which is the Company's ERP a plus.
  • 3 years of data entry and 10 key by touch.
  • 3 years of experience using Microsoft Excel.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to monitor and review work for completeness and possess strong organizational skills. Ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task.
  • Self-Management Prioritization: Prioritizes tasks and activities based on the contribution they make to the department and company's objectives. Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities and to set well-defined and realistic personal goals. Ability to be self-directed to solve business issues.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies problems and opportunities for changes and implements solutions accordingly. Ability to identify options for solving a problem and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses.
  • Results Focus & Initiative: Anticipates and prevents future problems, takes charge to bring about change, and takes initiative with role. Ability to take initiative in a challenging, fast-paced environment. The ability to demonstrate a positive attitude towards getting things done.
  • Teamwork: Coordinates one's work and performance with that of others to achieve mutual outcomes. Ability to build and sustain cooperative working relationships and build consensus within the department.
  • Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job is operated in a professional office environment where standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. are frequently used.

TRAVEL

This position requires no domestic and international travel.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in McKinney, TX.

RELOCATION

Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY

$27.84 - $44.52 / hour
