The Clinical Research Assistant I works under general supervision of the Principal Investigator, Research Coordinator, Research Associate, or Lead Research Assistant to perform administrative, data collection, quality control, and documentation activities in clinical research studies.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research in an ethical and safe manner in compliance with regulations, local policies, and SOPs.
  • Assists with coordination of basic study activities including creation of study binders, screening logs, forms, consent forms, templates, and lists.
  • Assists with recording, transcribing, and processing of study data, materials, or information.
  • Coordinates study participant appointments, activities, or visits.
  • Organizes participant charts and files and distributes appropriately.
  • Generates letters and other written communication for study participants.
  • Compiles study participant packets and recruitment materials.
  • Under the direction of the study coordinator or principal investigator, assists in enrolling patients in research studies.
  • Contacts patients if/when required to collect additional information.
  • Tracks and manages participant stipends.
  • Assists in preparation and management of study materials for IRB review.
  • Attempt to resolve individual issues with peers in a positive, calm manner, with a focus on solution.
    A. Communicate concerns and provide solutions for same.
    B. Project a professional image by wearing appropriate, professional attire.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description:

Education/Training Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent. Sophomore status or higher in a 4-year degree program (or earned associates degree) in a medical, technical, scientific or health related field).
  • Preferred one (1) year of work experience in a medical, technical, scientific or health related field.
  • Completion of applicable research training certification through CITI or comparable program. May be completed within first 30 days of employment.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
