Finance Director (REMOTE)

Schedule M-F 8a-5p CST

- MBA and/or CPA in related field preferred

Responsible for corporate finance, financial planning, sales finance, strategic insights, and finance analytics for high acuity care. This role partners with the business and finance and executive leaders to ensure excellence in the organization's planning process and operational rigor. Responsible for supporting the company's continued growth, predicting performance, anticipating opportunities and risks, and leading finance professionals to enable and deliver strategic financial goals. This role will help create strategy, systems, processes, and best practices within strategic finance that drive predictive analysis and data-driven decisions at the company.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes templates with Amedisys system for Contessa lines of business in preparation for annual budget.
  • Directs management of Financial Analyst(s) on team.
  • Prioritizes Contessa finance team projects and deliverables.
  • Partners with Directors of Operations to create detailed market budgets.
  • Modifies and updates 5-year projection model as requested by Amedisys.
  • Reviews completion of monthly incurred but not reported (IBNR) and settlement account estimates.
  • Performs financial statement review (consolidated and JV-specific).
  • Resolves financial statement inquiries from internal and external partners through research and analysis.
  • Reviews payroll registers periodically to validate employees.
  • Performs monthly Amedisys financial review, updating forecasts as necessary.
  • Reviews IBNR models to augment predictive capabilities, employing actuarial techniques.
  • Performs monthly accounts receivable review and follow-up.
  • Monitors joint venture (JV) cash trends for potential capital calls.
  • Provides financial assistance as needed with pricing, contribution estimates, etc., for JV agreements.
  • Facilitates generation of documentation necessary for renewal of JV reinsurance policies and Contessa and Visiting Clinicians annual policies.
  • Serves as member of Home Recovery Care (HRC) Finance Committee.
  • Oversees preparation of financial slides for quarterly board decks.
  • Prepares JV budget financial statements in collaboration with Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs).
  • Ensures compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory mandates including but not limited to abiding to the terms of the Amedisys Compliance Program.
  • Monitors and evaluates employee performance. Holds employees accountable for the attainment of defined goals and objectives. Executes effective performance redirection when needed. Develops employees through coaching, mentoring, and formal/on the job training and development opportunities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or related field; in lieu of degree requirement, equivalent relevant experience may be substituted.
  • Five (5+) years of experience in finance leadership roles partnering with officers and executives, including direct experience interacting with boards and board committees.
  • Experience preparing and delivering internal and external-facing presentations and reports in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Preferred:
  • Master of Science in Finance (MSF) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification.
