The Equipment Operator drives, maneuvers, or controls light to heavy equipment used to construct and maintain roads, bridges, and right-of-way. This defined retirement benefit requires a 12.27% monthly contribution rate and includes a 100% employer match on Day 1 Learn more at Work With Us \| Maricopa County, AZ We Require High school diploma or GED One year of experience operating trucks and equipment Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state of Arizona We Also Value Two or more years of transportation construction or roadway maintenance experience Job Contributions Operate a variety of trucks and equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures Haul materials and transport vehicles and equipment to job sites using various trucks Perform manual labor assignments as needed Inspect, clean, and perform routine maintenance work on trucks and equipment; identify and report mechanical problems requiring additional repair Complete required daily logs and prepare reports; attend safety meetings Perform traffic control activities as needed; report safety hazards and traffic problems Complete daily written reports and enter information into the Cartegraph asset management system Working Conditions Exerting over 100 pounds occasionally, 50 - 100 pounds frequently, or up to 20 - 50 pounds constantly Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards, and noise and vibration Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software, and Hardware Commercial motor vehicles, various construction equipment, and hand tools Protective Equipment Required Hardhat, gloves, eye protection, steel-toed boots CDL Selection Procedure Only the most qualified candidates will be considered Consideration will be extended exclusively to candidates who submit their applications through our online platform Candidates will primarily be contacted via email and their Workday online application profile Successful candidates must undergo a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation, as required by statute or policy.
