Clinical Research Assistant II-Autism Research

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
United States, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia
Feb 28, 2025

SHIFT:

Day (United States of America)

A Brief Overview

The Program for Advanced Imaging Research (PAIR), Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (DCAPBS), and Center for Autism Research (CAR) at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) are conducting a wide range of studies related to understanding and supporting autistic individuals.

We are seeking a full-time Clinical Research Assistant II (CRA II) to assist across several projects with an underlying theme of personalized research and treatment. The research to be supported includes:

  • Neuroimaging studies with infants, preschoolers, and school-age children who have autism or other neurodevelopmental disorders or genetic syndromes
  • Tailored clinical, behavioral, and technical supports that enable inclusive neuroimaging and the ability to enroll children and adolescents who have autism or other neurodevelopmental disorders in neuroscience research regardless of cognitive, ability, language level, or support needs
  • Studies focused on the characterization and treatment of concerns related to eating and health in autism

The CRA II will assist in the recruitment, screening, and scheduling of study participants. The CRA II will consent subjects for entry into the required protocol and report to the Psychologists and Principal Investigators on the conduct of the assigned protocol. This individual will work closely both the clinical and imaging teams to support data acquisition at clinical phenotyping, neuroimaging, and treatment visits. Across research studies, the CRA II will have regular contact with clinical and typically developing populations and their families. Finally, the CRA II will enter data into study databases, manage data flow, and ensure databases and paperwork are maintained.

Successful applicants will be highly self-motivated and detail-focused, as well as flexible and fast learners who enjoy working in bustling research and clinical environments. This position offers valuable clinical research experience in preparation for applying to graduate school. As a member of PAIR, DCAPBS, and CAR, the individual will have the opportunity to participate in outreach events and attend lectures and seminars on recent findings in autism research, allowing exposure to scientific and clinical leaders in the field.
