Key Responsibilities

  • Collects, preserves, and analyzes evidence from accident scenes or other relevant locations.
  • Prepares and maintains comprehensive documentation related to forensic investigations.
  • Provides expert testimony in court and other legal venues.
  • Works collaboratively with law enforcement, legal professionals, and other relevant parties.
  • Stays informed about advancements and best practices in forensic engineering and science.
  • Ensures all investigative activities are conducted in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Consults with clients to provide advice on forensic engineering and science matters.
  • Prepares written reports and verbal presentations of findings in clear, concise terms.
  • Works with Business Development to identify potential clients and strategies to build client base.

Qualifications

  • Education / Certifications / Licenses Required
    • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field from an accredited university required
    • Ph.D. or Master's degree preferred.
    • P.E. license required, or ability to obtain P.E. license.
  • Experience Required
    • 5+ years of proven work experience in forensic engineering or a related field.
    • Detailed understanding of forensic engineering principles and techniques.
    • Ability to provide expert testimony in court; high level of integrity and adherence to professional and ethical standards.
  • Other Technical & Non-Technical Skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; strong research and documentation skills.
    • Must be available to travel occasionally as part of the national practice.

Total compensation includes a competitive base salary and bonus opportunity, with final pay determined by job-related factors such as experience, qualifications, individual performance, and overall company performance.

Physical Demands:

This role requires frequently sitting or standing for extended periods of time and occasionally lifting and/or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds, with infrequent lifting up to 75 pounds. The work regularly requires bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, and maintaining balance. This position frequently requires handling and operating specialized tools and equipment and working in a variety of physical positions, including occasionally accessing tight or confined spaces. Work Environment:

Work is performed in both office and field environments, including active construction sites, industrial settings, and damaged or compromised structures.
