WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW position reports to either San Leandro, San Jose or San Francisco Red Cross office

Provides complex administrative support to a department, group or program. Prepare reports and various correspondences. Administers projects, programs, and/or processes applicable to the unit. Analyzes unit operating practices and recommends revisions to improve established procedures. May serve as an administrative liaison with others within and outside the company regarding administrative issues.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD

Perform a variety of complex administrative duties, with little supervision and exercising confidentiality. Prepare and maintain memos, records, reports, data or correspondence for management or staff review. Reviews correspondence for consistency with corporate policies and practices. May develop high-level presentations and/or spreadsheet reports and run specialized queries from department database. Lead system user/training for some Business Applications to troubleshoot with colleagues using the appropriate system. Initiate, prepare, and edit written materials, correspondence, and reports using various software and/or database management applications. Compile and generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, graphs, correspondence and presentations supporting functional area or business unit/project by utilizing specific database or software applications Support facilities/asset management by entering Work Orders and Service requests into eMax,sometimes managing vendor-related activities such as obtaining proposals for new vendors Support system for reserving vehicles is being used appropriately and making reservations for those without access to the system. Lead system user/training for Business Applications and IT Services using the appropriate system (facilities and security systems) to troubleshoot for Region and assist with tech services requests. May administer a particular project involving operational issues and compile results and findings for management review. May participate as a department representative on a cross-functional project team or serve as a project manager for an intra-department project. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.

Pay Information:

The pay range for this position is (CA): $23.00/hr. - $24.50/hr.

Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Qualifications

Education: High School or equivalentrequired. Associate's degree in Accounting, Business or Public Administration preferred.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of financial or facilities administrative support experience in community organizations, government agencies, non-profit organizations, business or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.

Management Experience: NA

Skills & Abilities: Ability to work on a team. Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work to maximize team performance and meet customer expectations. Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain collaborative work relationships within the organization and with external stakeholders. Proficient with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Travel: Travel is required throughout the Region with some travel outside of Region.

A current, valid driver's license with good driving record is required.

*Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

Physical Requirements

Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Ability to use a personal computer, applicable software, and office equipment for sustained periods of time. May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle, and working under challenging conditions.
