Role : SQL Database Administrator Specialist

Location: Must be on-site in McLean OR Plano, hybrid T,W,TH
Assignment Type: 6 Months , possible extension/conversion

Bill Rate: $55 - $60/HR Max

Must Haves: Complete DB2 knowledge required. Unix Shell scripting

Database Engineer Specialist Database Engineer Specialist

responsibilities include:

* DB2 database design, including architecture, installation procedures, build and configuration standards
* Configure Database and Database Clients to use Data in Transit TLS encryption / or Password in Transit Encryption are required by the project
* Troubleshoot and solution Encrypted connections of various types, including jdbc, odbc, and native clients
* Database maintenance automation using Ansible, SHELL, python
* Provide on-call support on rotation as per schedules
* Experience with upgrading DB2 databases

Basic Requirements:

* More than 7 years of experience in DB2 Database administration
* In Depth understanding of Database technology, standard patterns, and best practices
* Extensive Database configuration
* Deep knowledge of industry-standard, enterprise-class best practices for a large database environment
* Good understanding of Linux/VM platform
* Deep understanding of HA, DR Database and storage technologies as they relate to DB2
* Experience implementing, supporting and auditing database security in DB2
* Experience with Unix/Linux OS platform and Unix Shell/Perl scripting and automation

Preferred Skills:

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience working in virtual environment using VMware
* Database vendor certification
