Responsibilities

Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing business acumen and direction related to Oncology Services. Working in close partnership with Finance includes performance improvement, operations dashboard (monthly/annual), financial performance metrics, business planning, strategy implementation, budget analysis and other related matters for the Oncology Services Network.

Areas of service line oversight include business operations, strategic planning, performance improvement, revenue enhancement, expense containment, capital planning, staffing models, provider recruitment, business development and service line dashboards. The Director will work collaboratively to develop and deploy business solutions which support the mission, vision, and values of HonorHealth and Oncology Service Line.

This position will partner with Finance and serve as a trusted advisor in Oncology financial matters. The Director will develop oncology business plans and strategies with Department of Finance engagement. Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify benchmarks in business performance, hospital and ambulatory throughput, cost per case and tumor type, upstream / downstream finances (Surgery, Infusion, Radiology, Pathology, Pharmacy[340B]) quality and productivity metrics.

Prepares and presents presentations to review operating and financial performance. Working with Finance provides oversight for Oncology financial improvements, including action plans for enhanced billing, reimbursement (denials), payer mix, financial assistance, and professional agreements.

Develops, implements, and assists in monitoring approved strategic business plans for accountability. Ensures proper interpretation, coordination, and development of financial data. Leads monthly service line business review meetings covering budget variances, physician and staff recruitment, service line goals and tactics.
  • Plan, coordinate, manage and lead annual operating, capital, long range financial planning, and budget process for service line.
    Develop business plans and presentations as requested and required.
    Assist in strategy development with service line leaders.
    Perform monthly and quarterly analyses as required by Finance and Service Line Leadership.
  • Monthly reporting of service line results to service line and system management (by location, tumor/disease type, inpatient/ambulatory, provider, Department/Division, market service areas, etc.)
    Identify trends, opportunities, and shortfalls. Compare cost, revenues and performance between sites. Assist in developing action plans to improve operating results, close gaps and enhance performance.
    Create, enhance, and monitor current and future reporting systems which provide timely, accurate and actionable information and reporting.
    Develop, with Finance, standardized reporting, narratives, and performance enhancement tools.
  • Direct and/or assist with the development of project scopes, objectives and assemble project teams.
    Coordinate and participate in analytical studies and provide consultation as required/needed.
  • Develop and implement, in conjunction with management team, procedures, practices and work methods to ensure service line effectiveness and efficiency.
    Work collaboratively with Operational Intelligence, Process Improvement, and Quality.
  • Identify development opportunities and provide coaching to help coach others to positively impact business planning, revenue enhancement, expense management and financial excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Health Services Administration, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field. Required

Experience
Other 5 - 7 Years of progressive healthcare management/leadership. Required
