WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):

Document telephone messages and IRL customer orders for special blood products. Coordinate and transport of blood samples (as applicable). Maintain inventories for IRL reagents, supplies, equipment, and products. Data entry. Manufacture components (as applicable). Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures, Safety Quality Identity Potency Purity (SQUIPP), regulations outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Clinical Laboratory Information Act (CLIA) and other applicable Federal, state and local regulations.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

  • Receive customer calls, including orders for antigen negative blood products
  • Operate, maintain, and may perform quality control checks on laboratory equipment.
  • Perform receiving, inspection, and storage of IRL supplies and reagents.
  • May perform manufacturing duties associated with special blood products, if applicable.
  • May perform donor product inventory management.
  • May perform labeling and verification of blood products.
  • Maintain accurate, legible, and complete records.
  • May perform duties associated with receipt, coordination, shipment, and transport of patient and donor blood samples.
  • May monitor temperatures of blood products and donor/patient samples.
  • Adhere to procedures and good manufacturing practices (GMP).

Standard Schedule: M-F 3 pm to 11:30 pm

Pay Information: $15-21/hr

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of laboratory experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associate degree (AS) or higher preferred.
  • Computer experience and familiarity with office automation (e.g. MS Word) desired.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. You must be able to stand for long periods of time, repeat the same movements, and use your hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.This job requires the ability to hear and speak clearly. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30pounds. The work environment will consist of moderate noise. The employee must be able to react quickly using hands, fingers, or feet. This job may require the employee to be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out. This position will require the ability to use the stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods of time and the ability to keep or regain the body's balance or stay upright when in an unstable position. The employee must be able to frequently use oneor two hands to grasp, move or assemble objects.The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle andhave the ability tosit at a computer terminal for an extendedperiod of time.
