The Brigham and Women's Hospital Division of Global Health Equity (DGHE) fosters the support and coordination of training, research, and service to reduce disparities and improve health in the U.S. and abroad. The Division focuses on infectious diseases (e.g., HIV and tuberculosis), non-infectious diseases (e.g., rheumatic heart disease, heart failure, Type-1 diabetes, addiction) and other health problems that disproportionately affect marginalized populations around the world and are of major importance to society.
Within DGHE, Dr. David Duong and Dr Bethany Holt, focus on a number of areas including global health delivery and health system strengthening, specifically around implementation of people-centered healthcare services, primary health care and health workforce strengthening in low-resourced settings. Their research explores the social, political and historical context of these areas, as well as the development and implementation of integrated strategies to deliver interventions. The research is conducted with the Program in Global Primary Health Care, a joint initiative between the DGHE and Harvard Medical School Center for Primary Care and multisectoral partners globally, with a focus in Southeast Asia. Examples of current partners include the Partnership for Health Advancement in Vietnam (HAIVN), University of the Philippines, Thailand's Ministry of Public Health Praboromarajchanok Institute, and others. We are seeking two research assistants to support various global health delivery research projects within the Program in Global Primary Health Care. This will involve developing the research designs and implementation protocols, overseeing and conducting data collection and analysis, preparing manuscripts and coordinating various partners for initiatives. The candidate will have the opportunity for mentorship from BWH faculty with extensive experience in global health delivery research.. The candidate will need to be extremely organized and hardworking, and demonstrate passion to promote global health equity in their career. Standard knowledge of research design and analysis of data is required, as well as excellent communication skills. Willingness to learn about implementation science, co-design approaches to interventions and principles of person-centered care is needed. Experience living or working in low-resource settings and/or with marginalized communities is ideal. The position also includes opportunities to travel. Research *Coordinate and carry out designated research tasks and projects, applying quantitative and qualitative study tools aimed at documenting the design, delivery, and outcomes of people-centered care, particularly in the primary healthcare setting; *Lead and/or contribute to the the development of research manuscripts, including conceptualization, analysis, and writing with supportive supervision; *Collate, organize, and/or draft material for the preparation of research papers, manuscripts, progress reports, grant applications, articles or other documents for publication and/or presentation; Administrative Management *Provide logistical and technical support to various research partners and working groups, which includes developing meeting agendas, documenting meetings, recording tasks and deadlines to stakeholders, monitoring progress towards group objectives and ensuring high quality outputs *Submit periodic reports of project status to supervisor, regularly suggesting additional steps or modifications in current procedures; Other *Travel (1-2 times/year) to participate in and support programmatic activities Education Physical Requirements
