A CNC Programmer job is available with a manufacturing client in Indianapolis, IN. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience programming CNC equipment using NX software and will be proficient in managing various CNC machine controls, including Fanuc, Heidenhain, and other industry-standard platforms. This role involves producing high-precision components for the aerospace industry, ensuring optimal machine and operator productivity while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Program CNC machines using NX platform to produce complex aerospace components with high precision and accuracy.
* Work with a range of machine controls including Fanuc, Heidenhain, and other industry-standard systems.
* Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to design, select, and optimize cutting tools for manufacturing processes.
* Continuously evaluate machining processes and implement improvements to reduce cycle times, increase tool life, and optimize productivity.
* Resolve programming and machining issues, offering solutions to improve machine performance and quality.
* Work closely with engineers, machinists, and other areas of the business to ensure smooth production flow and meet tight customer schedules.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a CNC Programmer in an aerospace or precision machining environment.
* Prefer appropriate certifications or formal technical education.
* Must be proficient in NX software platform CNC programming.
* Knowledge of Catia and SolidWorks very beneficial.
* Familiarity with Fanuc, Heidenhain, and other prominent CNC machine controls.
* Experience with tool selection, design, and process optimization is a plus.
* Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, and machine operation.
* Ability to work with high precision and adhere to aerospace industry standards.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities, particularly in a fast-paced production environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal teams and providing clear instructions.
* Previous experience in the aerospace manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
* Automotive experience also acceptable.
