Summary: This work involves supporting the Project Manager Soldier Medical Devices (PM SMD), Force Integration Division (FID) in providing Medical Materiel Support to all Army components facilitating optimal healthcare and worldwide medical readiness through; the procurement, assembly, and distribution of Medical Equipment and Medical Materiel Sets, Kits, Outfits (SKOs), the disassembly of previously fielded medical materiel and equipment, the management of excess medical materiel, the provision of disposition instructions, the management of on-hand medical materiel inventory, and the provision of technical assistance for medical materiel sustainment operations including training on Army automated logistics systems. Responsibilities:
- Serves as a Transportation Coordinator for PEOS, PM SMD, Force Integration Division (FID).
- Executes the procurement and assembly of medical equipment sets (MES) and field's medical assemblages and associated equipment globally to the operational forces.
- Reviews and conducts development of transportation concepts, policies, and plans
- Monitor and track the transportation and receipt of global medical equipping needs in operational mission requirements and contingencies.
- Provide a daily Transportation Report for all medical equipment sets and all Goods Issued Equipment utilizing authorized Army Automation Systems.
- Assist with providing transportation guidance to Headquarters, PEOS, PM SMD, FID's Regional Managers and Direct Reporting Units (DRUs) located in both the Continental United States and overseas locations.
- Assist with the development of FID's transportation policies, provides expertise to support technical decisions, and reviews procedures.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in resolving transportation related conflicts/discrepancies.
- Validate shipments to ensure proper placard markings.
- Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing the FID's Second Destination Transportation (SDT) program.
- Analyze track and monitor procedures, as well as trends with delays, frustrated cargo and lost items to ensure performance and customer service.
- Submit Transportation Discrepancy Report.
Qualifications:
- Recent experience is using logistics information management systems such as Army Automation Systems, which include, but are not limited to, Theater Enterprise-Wide Logistics System (TEWLS), LOGICOL System, Global Combat Support System (GCSS) and other systems
- Must have experience in successfully communicate with personnel at various echelons
- Must have experience in using Microsoft Office Suite tools
- Complete the LOG 0140 Packaging of Hazardous Material certification training.
- Must have an Active TS/SCI Clearance
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or Associates:
- Preferred in fields such as Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation Management, or a related discipline.
Certifications:
- Logistics/Supply Chain Certifications:
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP): Useful for understanding logistics and supply chain operations.
- Transportation and Hazardous Materials Certifications
- LOG 0140 Packaging of Hazardous Material: Required for handling and transporting hazardous materials.
