Faculty Pediatric Hospitalist NORTH CAROLINA -Pediatric Faculty Position.ThePediatric Teaching ProgramatCone Health, a community teaching hospital in Greensboro, NC, affiliated with the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill, seeks a full-time hospitalist to join its faculty of 10 physicians. The role is that of clinician-educator to residents and students in three clinical venues: a well-baby nursery, caring for term and late preterm babies with over 6000 deliveries per year, an 18-bed pediatric ward with over 2000 admissions each year, and resident acute care clinic. Call coverage is approximately once in 7 nights. Other responsibilities include didactic teaching, mentoring, and quality improvement projects.There are no delivery responsibilities. Our decades-long partnership with UNC includes a Primary Care Residency based in Greensboro, UNC Categorical residents, 3rdand 4thyear UNC medical students, and Hospital Medicine Fellows. The teaching service is supported by in-house neonatologists who staff a 45-bed NICU in a state-of-the-artWomen's and Children's Hospital, pediatric intensive care physicians who staff a 4-bed PICU, pediatric subspecialists, and an ambulatory clinic that serves as the home site for the UNC Pediatric Primary Care Residency. Both the inpatient ward and newborn nursery are supported by nurse practitioners. The ideal candidate will be BC/BE in Pediatrics or Med/Peds, possess outstanding clinical skills and teaching expertise, and have at least 2 years of experience at the attending level. Board certification in pediatric hospital medicine is not required.Applicants are eligible for a faculty appointment at the UNC School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics at the assistant or associate professor level. There are opportunities for clinical, QI, and administrative leadership roles.

Teaching and Education
Provision of educational conferences for residents, faculty, students and teams to include Grand Rounds, Journal Clubs, Noon Conferences, Medical Student Lectures, Clinical Improvement Conferences, Board Review sessions and others as assigned. Mentoring of medical students, APP students and residents. Provide clinical supervision to students and residents on rotations as assigned.

Scholarly Work and Research
Faculty should encourage and support residents in scholarly activities including abstract submission, poster presentation, oral presentation and case report publication. The faculty must establish and maintain an environment of inquiry and scholarship with an active research component. This may include collaboration and participation in approved research projects.

Participate in required or assigned committee work including THN, CHMG, Graduate Medical Education, Medical Staff or others. Developing, in collaboration with leadership, new rotation or education experiences for students and residents.

Institutional Citizenship
Work as a part of the larger team to improve access, reduce cost, improve quality and promote efficiency and better health outcomes. This may include engagement in community outreach and to attend professional events to assist with program development and building professional relationships. In addition, attention to timely and complete documentation, patient satisfaction and referring physician satisfaction are needed by each faculty member.
