The post graduate year 1 (PGY-1) pharmacy residency is a one year period of transition from student to independent practitioner. The post graduate year 2 (PGY-2) pharmacy residency is a one year period of transition from general residency trained pharmacist to clinical pharmacist with a specific area of expertise. The residency experience is designed to accelerate 3-5 years of experience into one residency year.
