GSK is seeking a dynamic Senior Director of DevOps to join our DAPS group. This pivotal role will drive the strategic integration of development and operations, significantly boosting the efficiency and reliability of our application deployments. Key Deliverables and Responsibilities:

CI/CD Infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines to automate and streamline application deployments across GSK's platforms, ensuring faster delivery and higher-quality releases.

Platform Integration: Oversee the integration of DAPS applications with GSK's various infrastructure platforms, including CodeOrange and Onyx, ensuring interoperability and optimal performance across different environments.

Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, cultivating an environment of continuous improvement and innovation, and aligning team efforts with the overall goals of GSK.

Scalability and Reliability: Develop and implement strategies to improve the scalability and reliability of DAPS applications by leveraging automation, monitoring, and logging technologies, and ensuring systems can handle peak loads efficiently.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with software engineering, data science, and IT teams to align DevOps activities with broader project objectives, driving cross-functional efficiency and ensuring seamless integration of pipelines.

Incident Management and Response: Establish robust incident management processes, ensuring rapid response and resolution to operational disruptions and maintaining system uptime and reliability.

Innovation and Best Practices: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in DevOps, continually evaluating and integrating best practices to drive innovation and improve the overall operational workflow.

Security and Compliance: Ensure that all DevOps processes and activities comply with GSK's security policies and industry regulations, integrating security best practices into the DevOps lifecycle.

Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, ensuring that operational goals align with business objectives and that stakeholders are informed of DevOps capabilities and progress.

Performance Metrics and Reporting: Develop and maintain metrics and reporting systems to assess the performance of deployment processes, providing insights and data-driven decisions to enhance the efficiency of DevOps operations.

These responsibilities and deliverables emphasize the critical role of the senior director in driving the efficiency and effectiveness of DevOps practices within the DAPS group, aligning with GSK's strategic goals and enhancing its technological capabilities.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Over 15 years leading diverse technical teams, with a strong preference for experience in a TechBio environment.
  • 7+ years experience with CI/CD infrastructure in large enterprises

Preferred qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement within DevOps teams.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategies for scalability and reliability.
  • Familiarity with industry trends and emerging technologies in DevOps.
  • Proven ability to align DevOps activities with broader project objectives and business goals.
  • Experience in integrating security best practices into the DevOps lifecycle.
  • Ability to develop and maintain robust incident management processes.
  • Experience in providing data-driven insights to enhance DevOps operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of cultivating an environment of continuous improvement and innovation.
