Overview

CAES is seeking for a talented Business Development manager to develop, design, and execute business growth strategy for the Lancaster, PA operations within Mission Systems division of CAES. While being located near the Lancaster facility is desirable, a hybrid work environment is possible for the ideal candidate and is responsible for ownership of new business for the Mission Systems Lancaster organization across the entire business acquisition cycle including strategy development, new business opportunity development, capture execution, and proposal management.


Responsibilities

  • Lead engagement and relationship development with current and new customers positioning CAES as a trusted partner
  • Accountability for forecasting, identification, qualification, and capture of new business order book
  • Mentor business development and sales team
  • Partner with VP, Strategy & BD and PMO leadership to define and shape customer growth strategies
  • Manage organizational budget including bid & proposal, travel, and tradeshow/conference attendance
  • Drive continuous improvement in standardization and efficiency of the business development and capture processes
  • Lead and mentor capture and proposal teams associated with high value new program pursuits, including win/price strategy and capture execution, proposal management when required, and ensure compliant, competitive, and compelling offers are submitted.
  • Drive the forecasts process and build pipeline by utilizing the use of Customer Relationship Management tools/processes. Evaluate pipeline health and resource allocation for year-on-year growth across key financial metrics.
  • Interface with key consultants, representatives and re-sellers to ensure business objectives are met.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline
  • 5+ years of work experience with background in business development and/or operations of RF and microwave microelectronics component systems in defense end-markets focused on flight instrumentation
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree or MBA in a related discipline
  • 8+ years relevant experience
  • Leadership skills to include managing and motivating a team to work to their full potential.
  • Business acumen with the ability to understand financial data, financial implications of their strategy, and how they can best be implemented.
  • Capture excellence and/or experience credentials
  • Experience serving as spokesperson for an organization, executive presence
  • Technical familiarity with flight instrumentation systems and programs
  • Prior +10 years in business development and account management experience, preferably with DoD Prime contractor relationships
  • Ability to support travel on 25 - 50% basis

Salary Range min/max: Business Development Manager IV $ 113,049.19 - 169,573.79 Business Development Manager V: $149,893.51 - 232,000.79. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
