Salary Range: $250,000 - $280,000
Our client is seeking a Structures Design Leader to join their team at the FDOT Corridors Program Office (CPO) in Celebration, FL. This embedded position will require the candidate to report to the office five days per week and support the Moving I-4 Forward program, one of the state's most high-profile infrastructure projects. Responsibilities:
Provide professional engineering consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of diverse projects.
Develop and evaluate engineering reports, plans, and specification criteria.
Coordinate with a multidisciplinary project team, including client communication, proposal coordination, marketing, presentations, and other related activities.
Prepare specifications, scaled drawings, and proposals while ensuring the final plans meet approval standards for materials and construction.
Meet with clients to define project objectives and requirements.
Review junior staff work for technical accuracy and provide guidance to other professionals and technicians.
Perform quality control reviews, field reviews, and observations of ongoing construction projects.
Review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments. Lead teams or manage a small group of direct reports for project completion.
Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing.
In-depth knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes, regulations, and ordinances.
Proficiency in production software and construction document production.
Proven ability to address challenging or controversial issues in a professional and business-like manner.
Experience working on major projects or multiple moderate-sized projects, providing technical guidance to junior-level staff.
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, contractors, team members, and key stakeholders.
