Position Overview: Deputy Project Manager Our client is seeking a Deputy Project Manager with a roadway design background to join their team at the Moving I-4 Forward Program Office in Celebration, FL. This embedded position requires the candidate to report to the office five days a week and assist in delivering one of the state's highest-profile infrastructure projects. The Deputy Project Manager will support project coordination and manage the team to ensure the project meets client requirements. Responsibilities:
Assist in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors and manage professional service agreements.
Develop, communicate, and manage project quality assurance, administrative procedures, communication guidelines, and progress reporting requirements.
Monitor schedules, billing, and progress reporting; ensure appropriate charges for manhours, costs, and expenses.
Identify new business opportunities for the firm, assist in project/program presentations to clients, and market the firm's services to existing and prospective clients.
Coordinate with senior management on project and program status, alerting them to production, quality, or financial issues.
Supervise and mentor project managers, manage the work of subconsultants, and ensure timely and efficient project execution.
Communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, public officials, and the general public.
Monitor and report financial status of projects/programs and ensure project success within budget and schedule.
Plan, prioritize, and review project plans and documents, providing alternative solutions and evaluating options.
Perform additional duties as needed to ensure project success.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Graduate degree preferred; management coursework or MBA is a plus.
Minimum 10 years of experience in project production and technical activities, with 4 years as a project manager.
Professional Registration in relevant field required, if available. PMP or CCM certification required within one year.
Strong interpersonal skills, public speaking abilities, and project financial management skills.
Proven ability to lead diverse multidisciplinary teams and effectively manage projects.
Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
