Loan Assessor/Underwriter (NMLS certified), Hybrid

FlexStaff is seeking a Loan Assessor/Underwriter for our Client, a banking services company, located in Bethpage, NY.

Monday-Friday, 8a-5p, hybrid.

In this role you will be responsible for evaluating consumer loan applications to determine the creditworthiness of applicants.

The ideal candidate would have Bachelors in Finance, Business or related field, minimum of 2 years of related experience and NMLS license.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Evaluate Loan Applications: Assess credit reports, application details, and financial documentation to determine applicants' repayment capacity while ensuring compliance with company policies and guidelines.
• Collaborate with Teams: Work in tandem with the underwriting team, sales departments, and senior management to facilitate a seamless and efficient loan process.
• Provide Loan Recommendations: Submit recommendations for loan approval or denial to the Loan Review Committee or Underwriting Manager as necessary.
• Manage Dealer Relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with dealers, ensuring clear communication and accuracy in loan processing.
• Detect Fraud: Identify potential instances of fraud or misrepresentation in loan applications.
• Ensure Clear Communication: Effectively communicate with dealers and other third-party vendors to clarify underwriting requirements and ensure accurate loan processing.
• Make Informed Decisions: Make loan decisions, handle phone inquiries, and respond to queries while adhering to established service levels for dealer support.
