Overview

We are looking for a Material Handler Lead to join our shipping/warehouse manufacturing team. The Material Handler Lead is responsible for performing a variety of tasks involving the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. You will assist department supervisor and employees with system/order trouble shooting.in our Norcross warehouse facility. Responsibilities

The Material Handler Lead responsible for helping the Supervisor with the execution of departmental training (Learner Tracks, OJT's, training reports etc). Understand and comply with any/all guidelines within the Immucor Quality Manual, cGMP, GDP, FDA, ISO, Housekeeping, and Departmental Compliance.

  • Comply with all departmental procedures.
  • Verify and process (data entry) for all deliveries according to cGMP and any/all departmental procedures.

  • Receives, handles, stores, rotates and delivers all raw material, components, finished goods according to FIFO, cGMP, and any/all departmental procedures.

  • Operates and maintains department equipment. Ensures that any inspections required are performed according to regulations.

  • Identifies and helps troubleshoot incorrect performance of department equipment (where applicable).

  • Actively participates in the training of new employees.

  • Warehouse work (storing/rotating supplies, raw materials/components, restacking pallets, and organizing storage areas.

  • Perform cycle counts and/or physical yearend inventory (when required) of all supplies, raw material/components, Finished Goods and/or consumables.

  • Performs the tasks and functions associated with daily mail duties throughout the Immucor campus.

  • Pull/scan/pack orders according to FIFO, cGMP, and any/all departmental procedures.

  • Identify and report any/all unsafe equipment and/or working conditions.

  • Discard expired product when directed.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Work with the department manager and/or supervisor to execute the appropriate on-the-job training modules (OJT's).

  • Work with the department supervisor to ensure that employee trainings are up to date, monitoring/tracking and trending all departmental training.

  • Assist department manager/supervisor with SOP development/revisions.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Material Handler Lead Position, you must have the flexibility to work irregular hours as necessary to meet manufacturing production standards.

Other requirements for the role include:

  • High school diploma OR GED (General Education Degree)
  • Must have PC and keyboarding skills along with knowledge of e-mail and internet.
  • Must be able to work irregular hours as necessary to meet production standards.
  • Team player with the ability to interact cooperatively with coworkers
  • Constantly using hands to grab and reach for products when pulling orders or receiving/stocking material.

  • International orders can weigh up to approximately 70 pounds per box.

  • Serum carts weigh approximately 800 pounds; these carts need to be maneuvered in and out of the coolers when necessary.

  • Close and distant vision required for forklift activity.

  • Depth perception required when placing product on warehouse racking.
