What we need...

We're looking for a motivated Windows Desktop support specialist, familiar with supporting Windows in a VDI environment. Strong skills in Windows networking (TCP/IP communication, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory) are a must. Strong application troubleshooting skills are a must. Familiarity with VMWare/Omnissa Horizon is a big plus. Configuration management of thin client platforms is another big plus.

What you'll do...



  • Provide front-line and escalation Windows desktop support to COCC employees
  • Contribute to Desktop focused projects (OS and hardware upgrades, etc)
  • Participate in our Desktop on-call rotation
  • You'll be part of our weekly site rotation, supporting each of COCC's three Connecticut sites in turn


What you'll bring...



  • Bachelors Degree preferred for this role but will consider appropriate certifications and/or work experience
  • Three to five years of performing Windows desktop support in a production environment
  • *Extensive experience in troubleshooting hardware and software on End User Desktops required
  • Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs, VMware, MDM required
  • Certification(s) related to environment (e.g., Comptia, MCSA) a strong plus
  • Experience supporting, configuring & maintaining a VDI environment
  • Intermediate knowledge of Windows, including installation and troubleshooting
  • Intermediate knowledge of troubleshooting various enterprise applications such as Microsoft Office, Webex, Slack, Adobe, Java, etc.
  • Intermediate knowledge of user access control, patching, and networking stacks
  • Intermediate knowledge of VMware Infrastructure functionality/management
  • Intermediate knowledge of setting up and maintaining computer hardware (Desktops/Laptops/Smart Devices)


Salary Range for this role is $60,000K-$80,000K annually
