Job Summary/Primary Purpose:
The Summer Camp Kitchen Attendant will support the Summer Day Camp Program by preparing meals and snacks for campers, as well as maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Prepare lunches and snacks for campers in compliance with USDA feeding guidelines.
  • Ensure that program areas, including kitchen and dining spaces, are safe, clean, and organized for both campers and guests.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of general and departmental safety rules, ensuring their consistent application.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks in the kitchen and dining areas, including but not limited to washing and sanitizing dishes, disposing of trash, sanitizing tables and serving counters, and sweeping and mopping the dining area floors.
  • Maintain accurate records of food services provided by vendors.
  • Work schedule: Monday through Friday, from 10:00 AM to 1:45 PM.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Education and/or Experience: High School coursework required.

  • Good communication skills including interpersonal skills.
  • English proficiency required.
  • Exceptional flexibility and ability to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate and work within a team.
  • Attention to detail, creative problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters
  • Strong independent judgement.
  • General computer knowledge is required to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.


Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Blood Borne Pathogen training required within first 60 days of employment. SafeServe Certification must be completed prior to the camp start date.
