Plant Processing Supervisor- Ozark:Guides the daily activities of a team to ensure the human handling and proper processing of live turkeys in accordance with all standards, policies, regulations, and all HACCP and USDA requirements. Ensures a safe working environment is maintained while meeting all production and quality goals. Trains, educates, and empowers team members. Maintains accurate records related to KPIs to promote operational performance.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* Working knowledge of relevant equipment and PPE

* Basic math skills and the ability to track KPIs

* Good leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and support a team

* Good communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak English

* Organization, time-management, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

* Ability to interpret and education on standard practices and policies

* Adaptability and ability to shift priorities

* Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new systems (i.e., Kronos, SAP, etc.) * Attention to detail

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of a team of entry level individual contributors. Provides guidance, coaching, and support to ensure successful completion of tasks. Participates in HR activities such as hiring, terminations, performance management, goal setting, team member development, scheduling, etc. Enforces systems, policies, and procedures.

  • Monitors departmental goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure team success. Reports and troubleshoots issues to maximize productivity.

  • Sets up and monitors equipment in assigned area. Conducts checks to ensure functionality and cleanliness.

  • Ensures compliance with all animal welfare regulations and promotes the humane handling of live birds.

  • Perform walk thru safety audits, enforces team member safety and proper use of personal protection equipment (PPE), and addresses issues.

  • Handles employee issues from all shifts, including issues relating to bird health, associate welfare, job performance, and disciplinary actions.

  • Participates in safety meetings and KPI meetings.

  • Participates in safety investigations, audits, and inspections.

  • Ensures compliance with all internal policies and procedures, regulations, and contractual obligations, including good manufacturing practices (GMPS), and SSOPs.

  • Responsible for supervising Fire Evacuation of area to assigned point.

  • Distributes and facilitates safety materials, including OSHA topics.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole

Minimum Qualifications (Educations & Experience):

  • 4+ years of relevant experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role.
  • 1+ year of leadership experience or the knowledge, skills and abilities to succeed in the role.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Physical Demands:

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate equipment, computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally climb and lift to or about 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

  • Work will be performed in a variety of conditions. Occasionally in a climate-controlled office environment(s) and primarily in a manufacturing plant environment with varying conditions, such as cold areas, wet areas, warm areas, chemicals, and other site conditions.
  • This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing environment.
  • The noise level of the office environment is usually moderate; the noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection.
    Occasional travel may be required.
