Summary:

The Human Resources Assistant at Pacific Seafood is a key role on our team member services team supporting efforts to address HR issues in a timely, confidential, and professional manner and ensure compliance with company policy and procedures, as well as local, state, and Federal regulations. This position involves recruitment and on-boarding activities, employee relations, and payroll processing and is ideal for someone who is proactive, organized, and conducts themselves with a high ethical standard.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Member Support and HR Operations:
  • Perform team member service support functions including responding to inquiries, investigating, and addressing employee concerns.
  • Screen incoming HR-related communications and relay messages to the HR team.
  • Assist walk-in applicants with the online application process.
  • Coordinate interviews and HR appointments.
  • Aid in recruiting, hiring events, and team member orientations.
  • Facilitate team member onboarding processes such as new hire paperwork, pre-employment screenings, and maintaining personnel files.
  • Manage time and attendance controls for payroll processing.
  • Ensure EEOC compliance throughout recruitment and hiring processes.
  • Assist in coordinating community relations and safety programs.
  • Proactively communicate possible employee relations issues to the HR team.
  • Perform routine filing activities.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.

What you Bring to Pacific Seafood:

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum one-year related experience or training.

Preferred:

  • Bilingual written, verbal, and reading skills in English and Spanish.
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills - able to communicate and establish effective working relationships.
  • Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource systems.
Pay Range: $19.34 - $23.78 per hour
