JOB TITLE: Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager

LOCATION NAME: Cambridge, Ohio

REPORTS TO: Plant Manager

DEPARTMENT: Safety


SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This position is a function reporting to the Plant Manager and is responsible for coordinating all EH&S activity performed at the Cambridge, Ohio plant.

The incumbent is responsible to identify, analyze, correct and control of Environmental, Health and Safety hazards in accordance with federal, state and local regulations, as well as company policies. This position is responsible to ensure that the Plant Manager, and corporate EH&S professionals are well-informed of any EH&S violations that are not being addressed timely.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:





Establish and maintain documented EH&S objectives based on EH&S Federal, State and Local EH&S regulations and Corporate policies. Comply with General OSHA rule 5A. Coordinate plant EH&S initiatives and monitor progress. Compliance inlcudes EH&S training compliance.

Ensure operational controls are in place and working while providing ongoing conformance to the ISO 14001 Standard

Make initial safety assessments and ensure EH&S programs are coordinated between the managers, employees and visitors.

Establish and maintain EH&S procedures to identify, to maintain and to access legal and other requirements, that are applicable to the EH&S aspects of plant activities, products and services.

Coordinate and interact with outside vendors as is applicable about EH&S environmental or service purchased to ensure ongoing compliance and/or to maintain a safe work environment.

Gather data and develop metrics to report status of compliance and levels of excellence on an ongoing basis. Specific reports will be identified by the Plant Manager and/or his designate to include the reporting frequency.

Perform other related duties of similar nature and scope.

Report per protocol action required to prevent a violation of the Tenneco Integrity Policy.

Abide by and complete all necessary training on the Tenneco Code of Conduct.

Abide by and actively participate in procedures consistent with the ISO 14001 standard.





Minimum Educational Requirements:



Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and 5 years of EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment.

The incumbent should have a working knowledge of common types of manufacturing processes, material handing principles and equipment.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

Management experience preferred

Excellent communication skills

Experience working with others in cross-functional teams

Experience working within strict deadlines

Ability to keep up with changing environmental, health and safety laws and regulations
