This position is located in Pasadena Texas, in-office and located in the Bayport site R&T. Responsibilities
Self-motivated to identify and carry out tasks needed supporting operations in the Testing Operations laboratories. Identify workflow shortcomings and correct to streamline processes. Become proficient in all laboratory equipment operation and develop needed troubleshooting skillset to lead problem solving efforts when needed. Have positive interaction in lab groups that encourage knowledge transfer to build value in laboratory teams with focus on unit problems and resolutions. Provide direction for laboratory teams to improve throughput and production quality. Become key point person between laboratory operations and supervisor providing operational updates on issues impacting testing schedules. Develop new methods to improve equipment test protocols, document through the MOC system and update or generate new SOP in compliance with ISO certification. Develop working role in MCAT unit operations, generate SOP, MOC, and training documents to ensure backup technician can successfully run the unit. Maintain, improve, and develop SOPs for work conducted in the TO labs. Develop troubleshooting guidelines for all specialized equipment to be used for training and operational problem solving. Work with supervisor on improvement projects, implement, document, and provide valued feedback. Evaluate lab equipment inventories to provide operational sustainability for long term lab support. Identify any deterrent from Ketjen Health, Environmental, and Safety policies in place and correct for compliance.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related disciplines from an accredited university 3+ years of relevant experience Exemplary safety record and proven commitment to safety in the workplace Strong teamwork and leadership skills Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Adept at technical troubleshooting, problem solving and solid mechanical aptitude Excellent time management ability by understanding priorities, anticipating problems, and scheduling tasks effectively
Preferred Requirements
Previous experience in a chemistry laboratory Proficient using analytical instrumentation including calibration, operation, and routine maintenance of equipment Track record of safety stewardship Previous supervisor experience is a plus Programing skills Hands-on experience in start-up and commissioning of new lab or pilot plant equipment
