The Team:

Our NPI Manufacturing team in Operations is responsible for leading the charge to achieve the cost, quality and delivery requirements of our customers globally. They partner with all product business units on product design and development to ensure all new products meet high quality standards, release at volume on-time, and at or below the cost targets. This team also works with the business unit engineering teams to develop the most sophisticated vision systems anywhere.

After New Product Introduction, Operations is responsible to design and manage the supply chain that ensures we can lead the industry on product availability and service to our customers, while driving continued improvements in quality and cost. This includes supplier selection and qualification, production planning, manufacturing, procurement and order fulfillment. They also provide continuation engineering support, failure analysis, and corrective action for all released products.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the development of new products by ensuring that products are designed for manufacturability, that possible failure modes are eliminated, and that processes and procedures drive high quality and low cost.

  • Develop assembly processes and equipment to support new product development. Analyze and debug early manufacturing issues and develop solutions to meet quality and availability goals.

  • Collect production data, analyze, report, take corrective action and drive continuous improvement during the NPI phase so that the product can move into series production.

  • Understanding supplier capabilities to aid design discussions and deliver new product components on time while meeting quality and cost objectives.

  • Provide engineering support to the rest of the organization including new product training as required

  • Support assembly, test, and inspection methods for products

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Design new and improve on existing assembly fixtures and processes.

  • Hands on experience with electro-mechanical systems.

  • Perform root cause analysis on production and product field failures and drive corrective actions.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing, assembly techniques, die castings, injection molding, cable assemblies, and surface treatments

  • Excellent communicator that can work directly with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and designers located around the world

  • Demonstrated success in setting challenging goals and achieving them when working on multiple projects

  • Ability to drive results quickly with attention to detail.

  • CAD experience (SolidWorks is preferable).

  • DFM and FMEA best practices.

  • Experience with document control

Minimum education and work experience required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, or equivalent engineering.

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in relevant, high-tech, electronics and electro-mechanical products.
