Under direct supervision, assists the members of the radiology department in provision of efficient and safe transport of patient care to and from their room to their procedure in Radiology.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Assists patients safely to their procedures scheduled in Radiology via cart, wheelchair or bed. Transport patients with IV's, Wound Vac's, Chest tubes and other items safely.

2. Reports pertinent patient information to nurse, technologist or other radiology staff if medically necessary. Obtains medical assistance for any patient who becomes ill while in the area, and provides patient comfort.

3. Performs tasks according to hospital/department policies or standards of care. Adheres to departmental established schedules/polices including but not limiting to double identification and hand hygiene.

4. Facilitates patient throughput through knowledge of unit and departmental routines.

5. Communicates effectively with staff, students, patients, and the public.

6. Follows oral and written instructions.

7. Serves as a role model for other staff with regard to attitude, motivation, and communication skills.

8. Demonstrates respect for all members of the University community in the course of performing one's duties and in response to administrators, supervisors, coworkers, and customers.

9. Welcomes the richness of talent from a diverse workforce and recognizes that diversity brings stimulation, challenge, and energy that contribute to a productive and effective workplace.

10. Represents the interest of the University and of unit leadership in the use of resources to meet service and productivity demands within unit goals and budgets; strives to promote continual process and quality improvement.

12. Implements the Greet, Explain, Thank model and utilizes service recovery when appropriate.

Hours:evenings 1600-2100 and Saturday and Sunday 0800-1630
