Job Profile Summary

This role focuses on providing medical and clinical support services to patients. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Cardiology related duties: Evaluates physical conditions related to blood flow and pressure in the coronary arteries and heart chambers by utilizing specialized imaging and other diagnostic techniques. An organizational related support or service (administrative or clerical) role or a role that focuses on support of daily business activities (e.g., technical, clinical, non-clinical) operating in a "hands on" environment. The majority of time is spent in the delivery of support services or activities, typically under supervision. An experienced level role that requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and may require vocational or technical education. Works under moderate supervision, problems are typically of a routine nature, but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures, and communicates information that requires some explanation or interpretation.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

3. One (1) year of experience in healthcare.

Hours: Per-Diem

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Completion of EKG course and EKG certificate.

2. Prior experience in a cardiology clinic.

Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

1. Maintains current knowledge in the areas of performance of ECG, Holter Monitor, Event Monitor and exercise stress testing, as well as patient education.

2. Demonstrates a proficiency in ECG, Holter Monitor, Event Monitor, and stress testing by applying proper lead placement techniques.

3. Documents patient information and demographics.

4. Prepares procedures for interpretation.

5. Operates ECG management system in accordance with department policy and procedure.

6. Responds to stat priorities and code events in a timely manner consistent with policy.

7. Demonstrates use and understanding of safe and proper transport and patient assistance techniques.

8. Maintains equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows infection control practice.

9. Maintains and troubleshoots equipment including Stress and ECG Management systems.

10. Provides peer support for staff including new hires in all work processes and equipment.
