The Analyst Regulatory will ensure regulatory compliance from well authorization through the oil/gas well production cycle, file appropriate permits and documentation with regulatory agencies, and interact with government agencies.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to:
- File drilling permits
- This includes having an understanding of lease, unit and allocation boundaries
- Working with multiple disciplines to ensure accuracy before permitting
- Ability to comprehend complex permitting issues
- P-16s, P-12s, SWR 37s, SWR 38s and SWR 40s
- Review as drilled plats provided by survey company
- Must be able to comprehend off-lease locations versus on-lease locations and how they affect the drilling plans
- Interact with the drilling and land departments to make sure drilling path is correct and we do not have encroachment issues, etc.
- Handle completion filings to State organizations (Railroad Commission)
- This will consist of using critical thinking skills to assess each wellbore to make sure that we have complied with all RRC regulations to include:
- Understand drilling, completions and workover functions to organize work and stay in front of daily operations
- Ensure quality of work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to communicate clearly and interact with other departments and discuss issues that may arise
- Review documentation submitted to Diamondback by third parties and have the ability to correct and review information independently
- Must have a working knowledge of current Railroad Commission rules
- Responsible for filing UIC permits - collecting and reviewing all data before the application is submitted
- Must be able to work independently with minimal direction
- Overall comprehension of how daily operations run from staking a well through plugging a well
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Apply knowledge and use critical thinking skills to achieve work responsibilities
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least one (1) year of Analyst level work or three (3) years of Regulatory experience
- Must have a working knowledge of drilling, completions, land and general oil and gas operations
- Must have a working knowledge of current Railroad Commission rules
- Must have prior experience filing UIC permits
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must have strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills
- Must be able to demonstrate integrity, trust, and respect for team and leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree preferred
- Permian basin experience preferred
- Motivated self-starter capable of performing with minimal supervision
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Familiar with oilfield terminology and operations
