As the Materials Specialist for the Global Distribution Center, you are responsible for order management activities and scheduling of the materials required to execute the business.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Analyzing incoming demand - identifies order exceptions, misalignment with product rationalization strategy and opportunities to utilize existing inventory.
  • Planning and scheduling order timelines to be consistent with customer requirements while minimizing inventory and shipping costs
  • Working with the Product Line/Sales/Service Delivery to prioritize deliver dates as needed (push-outs, pull-ins)
  • Working with the demand planner to create the netted demand plan
  • Performing various material management analysis such as statistical material consumption and forecasts, aged inventory, aged purchase orders, in-transit material analysis, safety stock, etc.
  • Monitoring levels of aging inventory and works with regions and manufacturing plants to address accordingly
  • Monitoring inventory levels and ensures the weekly increase or decrease in levels are aligned to the business.
  • Developing methods and programs to optimize the utilization of inventory consumption opportunities
  • Providing updates to inventory projections and creates mitigation plans as needed.
  • Reviewing Slow Moving Inventory (SMI) with product lines for necessary scrap transactions.
  • Reviewing demand driving SMI and low turn parts (valid/invalid SO, Fcst, ROP, SS)
  • Reviewing open POs for purchases of SMI and low turn parts
  • Ensuring inventory compliance with policy and procedures
  • Implementing KPI's & Goal Setting, reviewing and reporting DSOH, TOR
  • Vendor Consignment management
  • Facilitating transactions on inventory related to excess or SMI (moving SLOC, scrap, QNs, etc) per the direction of the product line
  • Assisting in executing continuous improvement projects to maximize value.
Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have an associates' Degree in Supply Chain or equivalent experience (2+ years' experience) in a related field.
  • Have Experience in order management, inventory optimization and management, asset utilization and management
  • Have a basic understanding of SAP and MRP functionality
  • Have the ability to work with and influence stakeholders
  • Complete tactical execution with a sense of urgency

  • APICS Certification
