PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As a Commissioning & Startup Operator at Worley, you will play a critical role in bridging traditional energy solutions with innovative and sustainable technologies. This role is instrumental in supporting our purpose of delivering a more sustainable world, ensuring that projects transition smoothly from the final stages of construction through commissioning, start-up, and into safe, reliable operation. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working alongside customers and partners to create value over the life of energy, chemical, and resource assets-contributing to solutions that meet today's global demands while driving progress toward a sustainable future.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Support and execute safe and efficient commissioning and startup activities for a wide range of energy, chemical, and resource projects in line with Worley's commitment to sustainability and innovation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project management teams to ensure that systems and equipment are installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with technical specifications, operational requirements, and project goals.
  • Interpret and work from project documentation including process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, operational manuals, and safety procedures.
  • Monitor and validate system performance, troubleshoot operational issues, and recommend improvements to achieve safe, efficient, and optimized operations.
  • Lead or contribute to pre-commissioning checklists, system walkdowns, and function tests to verify readiness for startup.
  • Support training, mentoring, and knowledge transfer for operations personnel in system operation and maintenance during early operational phases.
  • Champion a culture of safety and environmental stewardship, adhering to and promoting compliance with all applicable standards, regulations, and Worley's sustainability objectives.
  • Document commissioning activities, maintain detailed records, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives based on lessons learned and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLSET



  • Demonstrated experience in commissioning and startup operations within the energy, chemicals, or resources industries.
  • Solid understanding of process operations, instrumentation, control systems, mechanical equipment, and electrical systems across complex industrial facilities.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret engineering documents, including P&IDs, isometrics, logic diagrams, and commissioning plans.
  • Strong commitment to safety, sustainability, and regulatory compliance, with a proactive approach to risk management and hazard identification.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to work within multidisciplinary teams and engage with diverse stakeholders, including customers and vendors.
  • Adaptability and a solution-focused mindset to meet the evolving needs of projects that support both conventional and sustainable energy objectives.
  • Practical knowledge of commissioning management systems and field execution methodologies.
  • High level of initiative and accountability with a commitment to quality, performance, and continuous improvement.
