Job Description

The Facility Services Lead, under the direction of the Facilities Manager, plans and oversees the day-to-day operations of the facilities staff and determines the most effective use of employees, contractors, equipment, and materials required to maintain the facility. This position works closely with internal stakeholders from all areas of Rockwell Automation, as well as external partners and needs to exemplify strong leadership, accountability, and an execution driven attitude. You will work onsite from our Milwaukee, WI headquarters.

The Facility Services Lead frequently engages in proactive management including but not limited to janitorial oversight, fire protection systems management, buildings and grounds maintenance, roof maintenance, and elevator maintenance.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and direct departmental activities with Facilities Manager and staff to ensure that operations run effectively and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate and process purchase orders for timely completion of work orders.
  • Manage, supervise, and maintain Archibus CAFM work order, and preventative maintenance
  • Manage compliance and regulatory departmental training and documentation.
  • Assess and provide solutions for improved systems, processes, or equipment.
  • Direct contractor/vendor activities related to the operation, maintenance, or repair of buildings, grounds, equipment, roofs, and fire protection systems.
  • Maintain facilities management of Fire protection systems, Elevators, Janitorial, grounds maintenance, millwrights, & furniture movement.
  • Coordinate with the Space Planning team regarding the movement of furniture systems and materials
  • Manage Warehousing movement and space on the MKE campus in conjunction with the space planning team
  • Lead trade employees including painters, carpenters, and furniture movers
  • Process and expedite work order requests and maintain related documentation.
  • Provide work direction and guidance to Facilities Maintenance staff, including elevator mechanics, fire suppression technicians, millwrights, and sprinkler fitters, etc
  • Manages the maintenance of all roof systems.
  • Oversees capital projects including special repairs, major maintenance, new construction, and renovations.
  • Provide Global support as needed, may require minimal regional or international travel 1% to 2%
  • Manages the Fire extinguisher program
  • Manages site maintenance and waste services
  • Serves as liaison to FM Global Insurance provider for Rockwell
  • Identify and analyze financial needs and develops operational and capital expense budgets that ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Assists in the preparation and administration of the Facilities capital and expense budgets.
  • Ensure that resources are used wisely.
  • Coordinate and implement special projects as assigned within specified time frames.
  • Maintain required records, reports, and files of a city building, elevator
  • Participate in professional activities to keep abreast of technical developments in the area of facilities management.
  • Maintain the general appearance of common/public spaces.
  • As a member of the Emergency Response Team, assists, with routine medical situations, building evacuations, and monitoring of severe weather conditions to assure the safety of employees and visitors
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management, Construction, Electrical, Mechanical, Structural or Architectural Engineering
  • 5+ years of facilities management
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Working knowledge in the areas of general maintenance: HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, Fire protection, painting, furniture installation, warehousing, and carpentry
  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards and practices
  • Technical expertise in the maintenance of buildings, equipment, control, and alarm systems
  • Experience with emergency response situations and resolution
  • Ability to work from a computerized maintenance management system(CMMS)
  • Ability to read blueprints, equipment diagrams and schematics
  • Must be able to occasionally work overtime and weekends when required and will be placed on the calling tree for emergency call ins
