The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for optimizing production processes, updating manufacturing routings, managing CAD drawings, and leading project initiatives to improve efficiency and quality at Zurn Elkay Water Solutions' Sinks manufacturing plant. This role supports continuous improvement efforts, ensures process standardization, and drives operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This position is located in Lumberton, NC.

Key Accountabilities
  • Update and maintain manufacturing routings to ensure accurate labor and material tracking.

  • Develop, modify, and maintain CAD drawings to support production, tooling, and process improvements.

  • Lead and support project management initiatives, including new equipment installations, process enhancements, and cost-saving projects.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and maintenance, to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing challenges.

  • Analyze production data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.

  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all manufacturing processes.

  • Support training efforts by developing documentation and providing technical guidance to production teams.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal fabrication or sink production.

  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) for design and process documentation.

  • Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
