Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Fabrication Production Supervisor, the Fabrication Technician will fabricate raw materials into finished parts using various techniques including small hand tools, welding, drilling, grinding, and sawing. Since these items are used in production, you must be able to read SOPS and ensure each project is completed correctly in accordance with all regulations and instructions. This position will assist with the assembly of Orthoscan Mini C-Arms.
Essential Functions:


  • Fabricate metal items using various techniques, such as welding, drilling, grinding, and sawing.
  • Effectively use measuring equipment to ensure parts meet defined specifications.
  • Adhere to work instructions, SOP and all regulations as defined by QARA.
  • Good organizational, documentation, communication, and math skills
  • Able to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Partner with procurement to ensure raw material supplies are adequate to support goals.
  • Ability to recognize an issue, troubleshoot and repair as needed.
  • Work as part of the production team to ensure goals are met.
  • Follow OSHA safety guidelines.


Basic Qualifications:
Education:


  • High school diploma or GED.


Experience:


  • Minimum 1 year experience fabricating mechanical parts and assemblies required.
  • Cutting table, welding, lathe, drill press and surface finishing experience a plus
  • Understand GD&T and the ability to use precision measuring instruments to ensure specifications are met.
  • Demonstrated experience manufacturing and assembling mechanical/electrical assemblies and subcomponents.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical/electrical assemblies and ability to understand how they operate.
  • Experience using material handling equipment.


Competencies:

  • Fabrication or welding experience
  • Excellent hand eye coordination
  • Ability to lift up to 50LBS.
  • Ability to stand, crouch, kneel for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

  • All work is performed in a production environment.
  • Must follow company dress code which includes closed toe safety shoes and other PPE.
  • May require periodic exposure to low dose radiation.


Working Shift:


  • Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3.30 PM, with occasional overtime as required to meet production and customer requirements throughout the year. Option to move to a 4/10 workweek after successful completion of training.
