Job Summary

Laboratory Technician to work with professor and flume lab staff in instrument cart upgrade, including hardware and software.

Essential Job Duties
  • Assess current instrument cart for hardware that can be reused and to understand functions of hardware and software.
  • Help design instrument cart upgrade, including designing requirements and research for motors, controllers, and actuators.
  • Write software to control instrument cart motion and data collection.
  • Prototyping and assembly.
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience in designing or building similar systems, including electrical and mechanical components.
  • Experience writing software to communicate between motors and instruments and end-user interface in Matlab or Python.
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Hiring Range

$28.75 to $39.75 per hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
