Position Description: |
A postdoctoral research associate position is immediately available in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Iowa. The successful candidate will participate in research projects focused on creation of delivery of mRNA nanoparticles. The ideal candidate will have (or be soon completing) a doctoral degree in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, pharmaceutics, or a related field. The candidate must be highly motivated with evidence of productivity from peer-reviewed publications and scientific presentations. Candidates skilled in in vitro and in vivo studies, nanoparticle drug delivery, and RNA therapeutics are strongly encouraged to apply. The candidate should ideally have experience using SolidWorks, Graphpad, and Adobe Illustrator. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are desirable. The successful candidate will be joining a team of biomedical engineers, cancer biologists, and radiation oncologists and will contribute to the ongoing work in the treatment of cancer and other disease states. The candidate will also have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment such as a small animal radiation research platform (SARRP), 3D printers, and injection molders. The initial appointment for this position is for one years, with the potential for extension for a total appointment of up to 4 years based on interest and performance. This position is available immediately and will begin at a mutually agreed upon date. - Evidence of productivity from peer-reviewed publications and scientific presentations.
