Another Source's client, Florida State University, is recruiting four Lead Dispatchers to join their growing team within the FSU Police Department in Tallahassee, Florida. Unlike city or county agencies, FSUPD serves a campus full of learners-many of whom are looking for guidance, support, and a steady hand in uncertain situations. As Lead Dispatcher, you'll be a trusted voice during the moments that matter most.

Key Responsibilities:

As one of four Lead Dispatchers within the FSUPD Dispatch Center, you will:

    Support 3 dispatchers on-shift and provide supervisory functions such as approving timesheets, writing performance evaluations for those team members
  • Monitor campus-wide camera systems and alarm alerts
  • Oversee emergency messages and assist with activation of FSU's Emergency Notification System
  • Train team members in best practices for call-taking, radio communications, and NCIC/FCIC systems
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and fire/rescue as needed
  • Prepare logs, reports, and contribute to critical departmental records
  • Ensure operational readiness during high-pressure and emergency situations

Salary: Starting at $44,500 | $46,500 post-certification, access to which is provided by FSU. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Required Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of relevant experience in dispatch, customer service, call centers, or emergency services
  • Supervisory experience
  • Willingness to complete certification training through the Department of Health post-hire

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Florida Crime Information Center/National Crime Information Center systems
  • Experience in high-stress roles (ERs, EMS, fire/police dispatch)
  • Ability to adapt quickly, stay calm, and communicate clearly
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking
  • Technological literacy in dispatch and security systems
