The Job As a Director of Solutions Delivery, you will design and implement a scalable, secure, and resilient architecture to support our transition to Azure Cloud, microservices architecture, Emerging tech (LLMs, agentic AI, etc.), Dynamics 365, and other new vendor implementations. Strategic partner between technical teams and business stakeholders (Product Managers, System Architects, Development Teams, and key stakeholders), articulating complex technical challenges in a clear and actionable manner. This role will be an integral part of the delivery of critical business outcomes, as well as the creation of technology strategies to leverage the IT portfolio to improve member experience and health outcomes, create competitive advantages, reduce operational risk, and total cost of operations. Additionally, this role will oversee governance, technology standards, and architecture review processes to ensure alignment with organizational goals. You Will Strategic planning and Road mapping:
- Analyze business needs and develop a comprehensive technology architecture strategy to support future growth and goals.
- Assess new technologies and their potential impact on the enterprise architecture, recommending solutions that align with business objectives.
- Lead the organization's transition to Azure Cloud and create a roadmap for scalable cloud architecture.
- Develop and manage a technology roadmap outlining future IT initiatives, including upgrades, migrations, and modernization plan.
- Drive adoption of Azure-native services, ensuring optimized performance, cost efficiency, and security.
- Design and implement a microservices-based architecture to support application modernization.
- Ensure proper governance, scalability, and reusability across microservices.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to build robust DevOps practices.
- Implement efficient CI/CD pipelines for seamless application deployment and integration.
- Develop and promote FinOps practices to optimize cloud spend while maintaining performance and scalability.
- Establish robust monitoring and observability frameworks to ensure real-time insights into application and infrastructure performance.
Solution Design & Architecture:
- Manage and run the Architecture Review Board (ARB) to ensure compliance with enterprise technology standards.
- Provide technical leadership for RFP processes and vendor evaluation for cloud and application solutions.
- Create and maintain architectural standards and practices that enable agile development while ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Work closely with Product Management and System Architects to define solution context, enablers, and key technical components for ART increments.
- Ensure that technical solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements, including performance, reliability, and scalability.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
- Act as a technical liaison between business stakeholders, Product Managers, Product Owners, and development teams, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical capabilities.
- Collaborate with other architects (Application Architects, System Architects) to ensure consistency and alignment of architectural approaches across the enterprise.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather input, define solution features, and address technical challenges.
- Communicate architecture decisions, trade-offs, and design rationales to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Support Agile Teams & Solution Delivery:
- Provide guidance and support to Agile teams within the ART and Solution Train to ensure that solutions are aligned with architectural goals and design patterns.
- Participate in Planning Interval (PI) Planning sessions, helping to prioritize architectural enablers and ensuring the teams understand and implement the architectural vision.
- Review technical deliverables to ensure that they meet architectural standards and are aligned with the overall solution design.
Architectural Governance & Continuous Improvement:
- Ensure adherence to architecture standards and principles across all solution implementations, conduct architecture reviews and provide feedback to development teams.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by driving innovations in architecture and identifying areas for optimization and technical debt reduction.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to continuously improve the architecture and development processes.
Risk Management & Problem Solving:
- Identify architectural risks and propose mitigation strategies to ensure successful solution delivery.
- Provide technical leadership to troubleshoot and resolve complex architectural challenges, ensuring that systems are reliable, scalable, and performant.
- Work closely with Agile teams to remove architectural impediments that may block or slow down development progress.
Documentation & Communication:
- Create and maintain architecture documentation that provides a clear blueprint for development teams and stakeholders.
- Ensure that all solution designs are well-documented and easily accessible to support ongoing development and future scalability.
- Communicate architectural direction and guidance clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences within the organization.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Computer science, Engineering, or a related field
- Certifications in architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and cloud platforms (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect) are preferred.
- DevOps certifications (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer Expert).
- Extensive experience designing and implementing technical solutions for complex, distributed systems, with a focus on scalability, performance, and security.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise architecture or related roles.
- Proven expertise in Azure Cloud services, microservices architecture, and DevOps practices.
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Solid understanding of FinOps and cost optimization practices.
- Experience in managing Architecture Review Boards and setting technology standards.
- Strong understanding of solution and enterprise architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Expertise in system integration, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices architecture, and APIs.
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages and technologies (e.g., Java, .NET, Python, JavaScript frameworks, etc.).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure as code.
- Knowledge of databases, data architecture, and data modeling techniques.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and drive technical decisions across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Experience working with Product Managers, System Architects, and development teams to align business requirements with technical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and experience working within a SAFe environment.
