Job Summary The Senior Director, Field Analytics & Insights within Strategic Analytics and Intelligence (SAI) collaborates with regional leadership to deliver actionable analytics and insights, enabling data-driven decision-making to optimize business performance. This role focuses on addressing the unique needs of healthcare ecosystem teams by leveraging advanced analytics to align strategies, identify growth opportunities, and enhance operational effectiveness across markets. Key Job Responsibilities
Collaborate with and advise Head of CE (SVP), Head of Medical (SVP), HEDs (Healthcare Ecosystem Directors), MEDs (Medical Executive Directors), Head of Medical field, and RVPs (Regional Vice Presidents) to to deeply understand business needs, trends, challenges, and key questions, ensuring that overall US insights and analytics service delivery aligns with TA, portfolio, access, and field objectives, and other relevant long-term goals. Architect and manage a system of business sensing and opportunity identification skillsets, tools, mindsets, and practices to proactively understand and deliver insights that drive regional and ecosystem business priorities, identify risks and opportunities, uncover unmet needs, and ensure analytics service solutions address key needs of the field. Accountable for defining the strategic direction and vision for overall SAI services as applied to current and anticipated CE/Field priorities and evolving business requirements; collaborate with stakeholder group leaders (up to and including SVP) to define and set service level expectations in line with CE/Field and TA priorities. Actively influence decision making across the enterprise by delivering actionable insights, both directly and through managed teams; insights include strategic options and recommendations, and answers to complex business questions. Accountable to deliver the strategy, governance, and process management for field incentive compensation. Provides direct business advisorship on CE/field, local access, field resource optimization, national and regional access, reimbursement & contracting strategies, field medical, and other CE/field priorities rooted in the patient, provider, and/or organized customer experience. Integrate and connect insights across markets to enable strategic alignment, highlight best practices, and deliver value-driven analytics for regional execution and impact. Delivers an objective point-of-view on market- and product-specific industry trends, sales performance, sales outlook, product demand outlook, business risks and opportunities, local/regional business specifics, and Genentech P&L commitments to the Roche Group. Partner with SAI and XO product teams, providing timely feedback to refine business product features, ensuring alignment with evolving stakeholder needs and analytics outputs. Proactively pursue cross-CMG opportunities where insights services can increase patient-centricity, speed, simplicity and/or other effectiveness outcomes. Invest, build, sustain, modify, and exit CE/field analytics and insights service capabilities and resources that drive the greatest impact for patients & customers by balancing cost, risk, and benefits/return of investments. Contribute to continuous organizational improvement by leading change efforts, both proactively within their group and in conjunction with other CMG/Genentech groups, and by sharing best practices, identifying opportunities for automation, and enhancing the efficiency and impact of analytic workflows. Proactively identify and address dynamic resourcing needs by providing prioritization guidance to CE/field insights service teams, while flowing talent and other resources to the highest business needs. Lead and mentor a team of insights and analytics employees, fostering professional growth, enhancing both consultative skills and technical skills such as data literacy and data analytics. Adheres to compliance standards and maintains Genentech/Roche's license to operate & comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Genentech activities.

Actively build and cultivate future leaders within analytics. Lead or oversee hiring of direct and indirect reports. Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Genentech activities.
Minimum Candidate Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree (preferably in general business administration, finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, operations research, or health science discipline). Work experience for 14 or more years. Work experience in strategy, planning, and/or operations management for 10 or more years in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related industries (could include related consulting experience). 8+ years of people management experience. Experience leading organization change efforts and change management. Robust communication, presentation, and organization skills. Large diverse team leadership and people management skills. Deep expertise in business insights generation. Ability to create and execute long-term business and capability plans (including the development and implementation of strategies, goals and performance indicators). Negotiation ability and strong interpersonal skills, including the evaluation of value adds and creation of mutually beneficial terms for various parties. Financial acumen and the skillset to manage budgets and tactical plans.
Additional Desired Candidate Qualifications & Experience
MBA or other related graduate level degree. Data analytics or data science experience in relevant industries. Experience in managed care, patient access, marketing and/or customer engagement/sales. Patient and organized customer business experience.

This position is based in South San Francisco, CA. Relocation assistance is not available at this time.
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $199,500 - $370,500 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
