About SAI Strategic Analytics & Intelligence (SAI) empowers business partners across Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs (CMG) to make impactful decisions by leveraging data, analytics, and AI/ML to enable fast, targeted actions in rapidly evolving business contexts. Job Summary The Executive Director of Therapeutic Area Analytics & Insights within Strategic Analytics and Intelligence (SAI) leads therapeutic area (TA)-aligned teams responsible for delivering actionable analytics and insights in order to guide and influence critical business decisions that shape and optimize key customer, TA, franchise, and individual product strategies, as well as investments/divestments, tactics, and local/regional business opportunities. Key Responsibilities
Advise Head of CPO (SVP), USLT members, Squad Leaders and partners across CMG, Pharma Technical, Partnering, Product Development, Global Product Strategy, and others to deeply understand business needs, trends, challenges, and key questions, and to ensure that the overall US insights and analytics service delivery aligns with squad objectives, One Pharma Strategy, CMG Priorities, and other relevant long-term goals. Envision and architect a system of business sensing and opportunity identification skillsets, tools, mindsets, and practices across all therapeutic areas (TAs) - oncology and non-oncology - by proactively analyzing trends, uncovering unmet needs, and making connections across diverse data sources to proactively identify strategic growth areas and business risks. Accountable for defining the strategic direction and vision for overall SAI services as applied to current and anticipated TA priorities and evolving business requirements; collaborate with stakeholder group leaders (up to and including SVP) across CMG and GPS to define and set expectations around the level of service provided as aligned to CMG-wide TA and brand priorities. Lead enterprise and network-wide initiatives to drive decision-making by delivering actionable insights, both directly and through managed teams; insights include strategic options, and recommendations, and answers to complex business questions Provide direct business advisorship on TA and/or above-brand strategies and priorities rooted in the patient, provider, and/or organized customer experience. Deliver an objective point-of-view on market- and product-specific industry trends, sales performance, sales outlook, product demand outlook, business risks and opportunities, investment/divestment opportunities across TAs, and Genentech P&L commitments to the Roche Group Partner with SAI and XO product teams, providing timely feedback to refine business product features, ensuring alignment with evolving stakeholder needs and analytics outputs. Proactively pursue cross-organizational (GNE/Roche) opportunities where insights services can increase patient-centricity, speed, simplicity and/or other effectiveness outcomes. Invest, build, sustain, modify, and exit analytics and insights capabilities and resources that drive the greatest impact for patients & customers by balancing cost, risk, and benefits/return of investments. Partners effectively with the SAI Head of Product and the CMG Enterprise Data Office to maintain a TA-specific data acquisition and deployment strategy. Serve as executive champion for analytic product suites and articulating their strategic value to senior stakeholders. Contribute to continuous organizational improvement by leading change efforts, both proactively within their group and in conjunction with other CMG/Genentech groups, and by sharing best practices, identifying opportunities for automation, and enhancing the efficiency and impact of analytic workflows Proactively identify and address dynamic resourcing needs by providing prioritization guidance to TA teams, while flowing talent and other resources to the highest business needs. Lead and mentor a team of insights and analytics employees, fostering professional growth, enhancing both consultative skills and technical skills such as data literacy and data analytics. Adheres to compliance standards and maintains Genentech/Roche's license to operate & comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Genentech activities.

Minimum Candidate Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree (preferably in general business administration, finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, operations research, or health science discipline). 14+ years of work experience in strategy, planning, and/or operations management including 10+ years in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related industries (could include related consulting experience). 8+ years of people management experience Experience leading organization change efforts and change management. Robust communication, presentation, and organization skills. Large diverse team leadership and people management skills. Deep expertise in business insights generation. Ability to create and execute long-term business and capability plans (including the development and implementation of strategies, goals and performance indicators.) Negotiation ability and strong interpersonal skills, including the evaluation of value adds and creation of mutually beneficial terms for various parties. Additional Desired Candidate Qualifications & Experience
MBA or other related graduate level degree. Data analytics or data science experience in relevant industries. Experience in managed care, patient access, marketing and/or customer engagement/sales. Patient and organized customer business experience.
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $227,500 - $422,500 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
