Purpose:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior or Principal GIS Analyst with expertise in brown field environments and pipeline projects to join our team. The ideal candidate will leverage Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to support asset management, regulatory compliance, spatial analysis, operational efficiency, design and routing.

Responsibilities:



  • Develop, maintain, and analyze geospatial datasets related to existing brown field assets.
  • Develop and maintain WebMaps.
  • Develop, maintain and analyze geospatial datasets to support the design of new assets and routing on new pipelines.
  • Conduct spatial analysis to support pipeline routing, risk assessment, and integrity management.
  • Integrate GIS with asset management systems, SCADA, and other enterprise applications.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (PHMSA, EPA, state/local regulations) through spatial data analysis and reporting.
  • Provide mapping and cartographic support for engineering, geotechnical, environmental, and regulatory teams.
  • Develop and implement GIS-based solutions for operational efficiency and decision-making.
  • Ability to develop GIS strategies and best practices to enhance operational decision-making and long-term planning.
  • Ability to perform field data collection and verification using GPS and mobile GIS applications.
  • Manage enterprise GIS databases, ensuring data accuracy, security, and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, geotechnical, environmental specialists, land specialists, and IT professionals.
  • Train and support end users on GIS applications and tools.
  • Stay up to date with emerging GIS technologies, trends, and industry best practices to drive innovation.

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:



  • Minimum 8-12 years of experience in GIS within the oil and gas and pipeline industry.
  • Previous experience supporting pipeline routing / pipeline projects.
  • Proficiency in Esri ArcGIS Suite (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise).
  • Experience with spatial databases (SQL, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle Spatial).
  • Knowledge of pipeline integrity management, right-of-way (ROW) analysis, and HCA/MCA determinations.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks (PHMSA, EPA, FERC, etc.).
  • Ability to develop and automate geospatial workflows using Python, ModelBuilder, or FME.
  • Strong understanding of remote sensing, GPS data collection, and UAV applications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.


Additional Information:



  • This position is located in the Englewood/Denver, CO area.
  • Salary: $92,247 - $140,069 commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: eligible for PTO, 401k, medical, vision, dental, etc.

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.



Preferred:



  • Experience with web GIS development (JavaScript, Leaflet, Geocortex, or other APIs) is a plus.
