For a full list of our comprehensive benefits, see our website: https://www.sarepta.com/join-us The Importance of the Role The Associate Director, Employment Counsel is expected to proactively support Sarepta's workforce through meaningful and creative solution oriented problem-solving alongside the Company's Human Resource Business Partners (HRBP). This role is important insofar as it is pivotal to facilitating cultural expectations cross functionally in an ever changing industry and legal environment. This role is expected to be a thought partner with Sarepta's HR function and work with internal stakeholders throughout the organization on employee related issues.
The Opportunity to Make a Difference
- Provide practical and sound legal advice and counsel to HRBPs and management on legal issues concerning the employer/employee relationship including, but not limited to, hiring, performance management, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, leaves and accommodations, terminations and reductions in force.
- Partner with HRBPs in advising on employee investigations.
- Develop, draft and implement a variety of workplace policies, employee training and employment-related templates and agreements in collaboration with HRBPs and other functions as appropriate.
- Review and advise HRBPs and managers on, and negotiate with outside counsel regarding, non-competition, non-solicitation and separation agreements.
- Strategically partner with our in-house litigation counsel and outside counsel in employment litigation matters.
- Partner with HRBPs to provide the business & functional leadership teams with guidance related to activities that shape culture and drive employee engagement.
- Strategize with HR and business leadership on a range of human resources topics, including workplace investigations, compensation and benefits, performance management, and workforce restructuring
- Present to executive teams or senior level stakeholders.
- Actively monitor employment law changes, to ensure policies and practices are compliant.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring compliance with and adherence to local and federal employment laws.
- Develop and conduct training for HR professionals on topics involving employment law compliance and HR best practices.
This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office two Wednesdays each month. More about You
- Law degree with one to three years of experience as an attorney in a law firm or in-house legal environment, with a demonstrated focus on providing employment litigation/counseling support for clients in the biotechnology and/or technology industries.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate legal advice in a clear, concise and complete manner, both verbally and in writing.
- As a visible representative of the Legal department with responsibility for the enforcement of Company polices and ethical standards, must exercise strong, positive leadership and influencing skills.
- Must have a record of professional performance and personal integrity reflective of good judgment and the ability to apply legal principles to business facts in a reasonable manner.
- Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with the ability to re-prioritize on short time frames.
- Acts responsibly and conscientiously.
- Works under pressure to meet specific deadlines.
- Works independently and in a cross-functional team environment.
- Dedicated to quality, reliability, and highest professional standards in all work tasks.
- Must be a self-starter and quick learner.

This position is hybrid, you will be expected to work on site at one of Sarepta's facilities in the United States and/or attend Company-sponsored in-person events from time to time.
The targeted salary range for this position is $168,000 - $210,000 per year. Sarepta is making a good faith effort to be transparent and accurate around our hiring ranges. The salary offer is commensurate with Sarepta's compensation philosophy and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
