Scheduled Weekly Hours:

36 Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a Dietitian Trainee to join our dynamic team and assist at the La Crosse and Tomah locations.

The Dietitian Trainee position does not require prior credentialing before starting. The only requirement is that the individual must have graduated from their master's program by the start date. Furthermore, there is a 120-day period provided to successfully pass the RD exam.

What you will do: The Dietitian Trainee collaborates with other members of the health care team to assess, educate, and promote optimal nutrition, eating behaviors, feeding skills, and health status of patients and clients within the Gundersen Health System and the community. This role is performed under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian.

Position Details:

  • Full Time, 36 hrs a week
  • Location: Monday/Wednesday/Friday at Tomah Cancer Center and Consultation at Tomah Health, Tuesday/Thursday at La Crosse
  • Schedule: 8 hour shifts, every 7th weekend Saturday & Sunday and holiday rotation of 2 per year
  • Hourly rate of $21.25; once credentialed will be promoted to Registered Dietitan with a starting hourly rate of $26.55

What You'll Need:

  • Master's degree in nutrition and dietetics or related field
  • Candidates with internship experience in a hospital setting is preferred
  • Experience with tube feeding patients, and those on TPN, is preferred, along with an interest in cancer nutrition
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) certification must be obtained within 120 days of hire.
  • Certified Dietitian (CD) or Licensed Dietitian (LD) in the state of Wisconsin must be obtained within 180 days of hire.
