The Role

The Director of Product and Platform Security is responsible for safeguarding the delivery of Lumen Products and internal platforms. This pivotal role encompasses product security, vulnerability management, attack surface management, cybersecurity asset management, and the internal solution development of data integrations, metrics, and dashboarding. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles and demonstrate a robust ability to implement security measures across various platforms and products.

The Main Responsibilities

Lead multiple departments to:

  • Develop and implement security strategies to protect Lumen Products and platforms backed by clearly defined services, SLAs, KRIs and KPIs.
  • Improve the overall NIST maturity of Lumen Global Security Services
  • Partner with product owners to build customer trust, prevent security incidents, and maintain regulatory compliance by monitoring and reporting on the current Security Posture of Lumen Products
  • Direct vulnerability management efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks.
  • Oversee attack surface management to reduce potential entry points for cyber threats.
  • Manage the cybersecurity attributes of all IT assets to ensure their protection and compliance with industry standards.
  • Drive the development of internal solutions supporting data integrations, metrics, and dashboarding.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security measures are integrated into product development and delivery processes.
  • Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve security measures.
  • Support Compliance functions to ensure Lumen maintains pertinent certifications such as PCI and CMMC
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the security team, fostering a culture of vigilance and proactive security practices.
  • Collaborate with the VP of PPS and CISO, presenting a united front to the executive team, LUMEN board, and customers on all matters relating to both product and information security.
What We Look For in a Candidate
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on product and platform security.
  • Proven track record of managing vulnerability assessment and attack surface management.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity asset management and compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of security technologies, trends, leading practices, and regulatory requirements and government security standards such as FedRAMP and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) standards, along with best practices such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001-27002 and other applicable security and privacy laws.
  • Experience in developing security solutions for data integrations, metrics, and dashboarding.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to security challenges.
  • Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH, are a plus
Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

$149,084 - $198,779 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$156,539 - $208,718 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
$163,993 - $218,657 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
