Senior Manager, Product Management - Denver, CO (Hybrid)

In this crucial role, you will be responsible for a product/platform or multiple product capabilities, including inception, discovery, solutioning, development, testing, and roll-out. Is expected to acquire expert knowledge of multiple platform capabilities and manage their status quo, as well as defining a desired future state. Conducts market, user, and data analysis to derive desired future state and works with internal and external stakeholders to gain alignment. Influences strategic priorities on the product roadmap, while executing with multiple engineering teams in an agile software development lifecycle. Creates and maintains multiple business cases for key capabilities. Creates and maintains KPIs and OKRs that can be used in executive reporting. Assists in shaping Western Union's product management practice, sets expectations with key stakeholders and looks for efficiency gains in our ways of working. Conducts comparative/benchmark analysis and proposes technology modernization and innovation. Works with global and regional operations teams on product and feature launches, from pilots to scaled rollouts.

Role Responsibilities



  • Defines processes for identifying user needs and the user journey; teaches and inspires leaders to evolve product suites/platforms and thoroughly incorporates user view into product vision/roadmaps.
  • Builds competitive advantage through developing strategic roadmaps; defines and communicates clear strategic objectives, prioritization principles, and philosophy for business unit; leads development of product or portfolio roadmap and a 3+ year product strategy, building a business case and campaigning for funding to tackle new enhancements.
  • Reviews, prioritizes, and triages initiatives and develops resourcing strategies; works with stakeholders to synchronize work, make prioritization decisions, agree on goals, prioritizes dependencies; reviews stories and epics when required, overseeing work of the scrum teams.
  • Leads development of iteration and testing plans; sets overarching performance metrics to drive growth across business unit; advocates for better/more data to inform insights.
  • Articulates actionable insights across broader corporation - connecting dots outside of own area of responsibility; oversees incident resolution processes; plans for scalability in processes/systems (ie. Non-functional requirements).
  • Partners with risk to identify and close process gaps and risk findings; escalate risk events and/or gaps in a timely fashion. May participate in retrospectives or Quarterly Risk Forums. May also be asked to assist in testing of controls, internal audits, and/or regulatory exams.
  • Gains alignment on product vision and roadmap across stakeholders and internal partners/groups


  • Team Management & Coaching: Incorporates short and longer-term development goals of team members into role assignments; takes an active role in team's professional development through routine feedback, souring professional opportunities


Role Requirements



  • 7+ years of experience of product management experience in Financial Services, preferably payments.
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in business or engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Product Management Skills: demonstrated product management skills including working knowledge of agile methodologies, end-to-end execution of the product development lifecycle, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Demonstrated project management skills including the ability to create a project plan, planning and coordinating, organization, adaptability, and execution.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, a robust technological background, and an understanding of business processes.

Salary

The on-target earning range is $150,000 - $180,000 per year, which includes a base salary and variable target incentive (including short-term and long-term incentives) that aligns with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidate's qualifications, skills and competencies.
