Position Summary

Develops company-wide policies and procedures for Safety and provides subject matter expertise on a variety of safety disciplines. Interprets safety and health regulations, policies, and organizational safety and health programs. Leads safety process improvement initiatives. Partners with Lines of Business and/or Regional Leaders to implement Safety programs and advises business groups by providing direction on the development of procedures. Oversees process and procedure development, implementation, and communication.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be Flexible Location within the PG&E Service Territory.

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $126,000.

Bay Area Maximum: $200,000.

&/OR

California Minimum: $120,000.

California Maximum: $190,000.

Job Responsibilities

Plans, manages and controls the activities of a team that provides operational support for a business segment, group or team.

Provides support to emergency preparedness command system.

Provides oversight to the design, development, review and implementation of innovative quality products, programs, services and solutions to support existing safety and health management systems, PG&E safety guidance documents, and the safety goals of the organization.

Develops and manages contracts, outside service vendors or others as required to support the organization's safety and health programs.

Develops a clear understanding of company goals and objects to ensure overall objectives of the group are met.

Ensures daily activity is carried out in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, and PG&E

Safety Excellence Management System (PSEMS) requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety Engineering, Safety Management or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 4 years of relevant Safety experience

Desired:

  • Certified Utility Safety Professional certification. * Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or similar.
  • Experience in operations, construction, or maintenance
  • Advanced knowledge of PG&E work methods and procedures, safety procedures, the Code of Safe Practices and organizational safetyrelated processes and procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of Cal-OSHA general industry and construction safety orders and other recognized safety regulations and standards (e.g., ANSI, NFPA, Fed OSHA, etc.).
  • Advance knowledge of conducting and evaluating complex root cause analysis investigations and evaluating the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Advance knowledge of conducting hazard evaluations for complex or widely impactful/globally applicable jobs and recommending and evaluating the effectiveness of controls.
  • Advanced knowledge of key PG&E organizations and their potential exposure to safety and health risks
